Historical archaeology in Mesoamerica (before and after the Spanish conquest); Ceramic analysis; Material culture hybridization in contact situations; The archaeology of invasion and empire; Social organization and indigenous roles in early Spanish colonial El Salvador; Maya political history; Mesoamerican community organization
