A Tutorial on Blogging |

Writing Your First BlogPublishing a web blog through Blogger.com is just about as easy as it gets. After logging into your account, simply press the “manage posts” option, followed by “new post.” All of Blogger’s main functions are presented with noticeable and easy-to-follow buttons and links. Would you expect anything less from a blog host operated by Google? After pressing the “new” button, this will prompt a text box to appear. This text box is where you will enter your blog’s text. If you’re not interested in anything fancy, plain text is the easiest thing to enter. Otherwise, there option buttons located above the text box. The “B” button creates bold text. The “I” creates italicized text. The “quotation mark” button creates block quotes. Users can also change font size and font style with the click of a button. The options exist to make blogging easy and accessible to even the most inexperienced users. If you’d like to add a picture to your blog post, another advantage that Blogger offers is direct picture hosting. By clicking the “picture frame” button above the text entry box, you can upload a picture directly from your computer’s hard drive without having to host it elsewhere, like on Photobucket.com. Blogger offers over 1GB of free picture hosting, which would last most users quite awhile. After you’re finished writing, Blogger also offers a “preview” function, which allows you to view your blog as it will display once it’s posted online. This allows users to check for spelling errors or other typos before their blog is posted for public viewing. |
