Curriculum Development

Literacy skills are needed early in life. Developing a lesson plan that encompasses all the areas of a theme is the goal.

Children learn to learn through the experiences they encounter in life. Teachers must recognize the strengths and needs of each individual child and which learning style they respond to best.

Stimulating a child's brain activity so it can function to it's fullest capacity is of vital necessity in the first few years.

Creative imagination, comprehension and perception skills need to be stimulated early in the life of the child, so that brain activity develops as much as it can.

Focusing on pre-reading and pre-writing skills such as recognizing shapes, colors, numbers, letters and much more during the early years of life have a major impact.

Developing a curriculum that teaches preschool literacy skills means to help children to:

•understand thoughts and ideas

•participate and communicate effectively

An effective curriculum affects children in various ways, there by helping them to gain many skills needed to succeed in life.
