Dr. Barbara Forrest Barbara Forrest is co-author with Paul R. Gross of Creationism's Trojan Horse: The Wedge of Intelligent Design (Oxford University Press, 2004, 2007). She earned a Ph.D. in philosophy at Tulane in 1988 and is professor of philosophy at Southeastern Louisiana University. Her most recent article about intelligent design is "Understanding the Intelligent Design Creationist Movement: Its True Nature and Goals," (Center for Inquiry website, 2007). She was one of six expert witnesses for the plaintiffs in the first lawsuit filed over intelligent design, Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District (2005), which was decided for the plaintiffs in December of that year. Dr. Forrest is also the 2006 co-recipient with cell biologist Kenneth R. Miller of the Association for Cell Biology's Public Service Award. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Center for Science Education and the Board of Trustees of Americans United for Separation of Church and State.
