Ronald Sonny Faulseit

I am an archaeologist working on my PhD here at Tulane University. I conduct my field research in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. This website will be used to post information concerning Archaeology in Mexico focusing on my research at the site of Macuilxóchitl in the state of Oaxaca. Hopefully, I will be able to post updates with pictures from the field.This website also gives me the opportunity to share some of my experiences and thoughts about the year I spent in Afghanistan with the US Army as an Embedded Training Team Member for the Afghan National Army.

Archaeology in Central Mexico

On the following pages, I will give a brief synopsis of Central Mexican Archaeology, including several site descriptions and lots of pictures. The majority of Mexico falls within the Culture Area of Mesoamerica, which also incorporates most of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Belize. Mesoamerica includes many well known cultural groups, such as the Mayan, Aztec, and Olmec civilizations. It also includes several lesser known groups who achieved similar levels of political, social, and economic organization. Click on the links below to see more.

Afghan and Military Experience
